The Blue Jays will be represented at the coming First-Year Player Draft by former first baseman Fred McGriff. The Blue Jays have the 10th overall pick in the June Draft, which will take place June 6-8.

Toronto closer Casey Janssen has been effective on the mound all year, but his health seems to fluctuate on at least a semi-regular basis.

Blue Jays manager John Gibbons appears to have settled on Adam Lind as his everyday cleanup hitter against right-handed pitchers. The move had been expected for some time, with Lind's having turned into one of the club's more reliable hitters.

Edwin Encarnacion had a bases-clearing double in the seventh inning, while R.A. Dickey pitched eight strong innings to lead the Blue Jays to a 7-5 victory over the Rays on Monday afternoon at Rogers Centre.

Blue Jays No. 1 starter R.A. Dickey will have to wait another day for his next start after Sunday afternoon's game vs. the Yankees was postponed because of rain. A makeup date has yet to be announced, but the two teams do share an off-day on Aug. 19 in advance of a three-game series at Yankee Stadium from Aug. 20-22.

Right-hander Brandon Morrow was roughed up for five runs over five innings while the Blue Jays' lineup was unable to come through with runners on base in a 7-2 loss to the Yankees on Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

Right-hander Josh Johnson is scheduled to make his first rehab start for Class A Dunedin on Monday night. Johnson has been out of action since April 21 because of soreness in his right triceps muscle. He was originally expected to return during the middle of May, but the discomfort lingered longer than first anticipated.

Left-hander J.A. Happ has yet to throw off a mound in Florida because of lingering soreness in his right knee. Happ is currently working out at the Blue Jays' Minor League complex in Dunedin, but his sprained knee has yet to fully recover from an injury sustained on May 7, when he was struck in the head by a line drive.
