Blue Jays tap Stroman for opening day start

When the Blue Jays failed to make an offer to bring back David Price for the 2016 season it was widely assumed that Marcus Stroman would take over the No. 1 spot in the rotation. Wednesday in Dunedin Blue Jays manager John Gibbons confirmed that Stroman would be the opening day starter April 3 in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Rogers Centre's new surface has immediate effect

The Blue Jays rolled out the new turf Monday night-- AstroTurf - that will be in play at the Rogers Centre for the next three seasons. It looks different and it plays different than the rock hard past surfaces that have plagued players' backs and knees and turned singles into triples.
