Barney placed on family emergency leave list

The Blue Jays placed infielder Darwin Barney on the family medical emergency list Wednesday and recalled Ryan Goins from Triple-A Buffalo. Additionally, they optioned reliever Bo Schultz to the Bisons to make room for Wednesday's starter, Aaron Sanchez, who was officially recalled from Class A Advanced Dunedin.

Barney leaves Blue Jays for personal reasons

Darwin Barney is leaving the Blue Jays "for some personal business," manager John Gibbons said after Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Orioles, and Ryan Goins will be joining the club from Triple-A Buffalo. It's undetermined how much time Barney will miss or what move the club will make to get Goins on the 25-man roster.
