In the Blue Jays booth with Jerry Howarth: Nolan Ryan’s no-hitter

To commemorate Jerry Howarth’s 35 years in the booth calling Toronto Blue Jays games, we will be posting fully annotated versions of his classic scoresheets on Sportsnet.ca all season long, complete with featured clips from the games and interviews with Howarth.


True to form, Texas Rangers ace Nolan Ryan relied on a high fastball to complete his seventh career no-hitter on May 1, 1991 against the Toronto Blue Jays. Jerry Howarth had a great seat to watch it all unfold from first pitch until Ryan whiffed Roberto Alomar for his 16th strikeout of the day.
