A bases loaded walk in the ninth (ouch) was the difference here. Casey Kotchman had two hits and Dalton Pompey had a hit and a walk. Scott Diamond pitched seven innings and avoided danger for most of the night. He allowed ten hits and a walk.
TRENTON 11 New Hampshire 2
Jeremy Gabryszwski didn’t get out of the first inning and the bats didn’t offer much as the Fisher Cats slumped to a lopsided loss. Jason Leblebijian’s homer was perhaps the only notable involvement from the home-side all night.
Dunedin 0 JUPITER 1
Conor Fisk pitched a complete game in a losing effort. He ended his night with eight innings of five hit, one run, seven strikeout baseball. Anthony Alford had two hits.
Clinton 5 LANSING 7
Ryan Borucki was solid in five innings of work. He allowed three earned on six hits and two walks. He struck out four. Tom Robson followed that up with three shutout innings. The bats though were the story here. Fifteen hits, including three from Andrew Guillotte. Only Ryan Hissey was held hitless.
EUGENE 8 Vancouver 7
Real sloppy affair in Vancouver. Five errors between the two teams and countless base-running and mental mistakes. I was fortunate enough to attend the game and got a quick glimpse of god (Dave Stieb, who threw out the first pitch). Cavan Biggio looks like he’ll be a nice little player and will progress through the system. He showed some feel for the game with a bunt effort in the mid-innings that clearly caught the opposition off-guard. I’m not sure any of his tools play at a major league level, but he’ll at least advance through the system. Yeltsin Gudino looks like he can stick at SS. His defence is major league caliber and went the other way nicely late in the game. His bat speed is wanting and is likely to flirt with the Mendoza line throughout his career. Javier Hernandez looks good behind the plate. I haven’t seen a catcher in the Jays’ system as clean behind the plate with his actions as him in a while. Not sure there is much there with the bat, but he may have a shout for a backup catcher role at the Major League level down the line. J.B. Woodman does not look at all like a second round pick. There are no wow tools and even when he squared a ball up it sounded like a wet towel hitting the ball.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a hit and three walks. He also stole two bags. Yennsy Diaz pitched six innings of three run baseball.
GCL BLUE JAYS 3 GCL Braves 2
Bo Bichette was hitless in his loan at-bat. He was promptly replaced by Alfredo Bohorquez. No word on whether it was injury-related. Yonardo Herdenez pitched six shutout, one hit innings in relief.
