Toronto Blue Jays All-Star Edwin Encarnacion is the subject of a $11.5 million lawsuit that claims the slugger knowingly gave a woman multiple sexually transmitted diseases as well as battery, misrepresentation of the facts and additional allegations, TMZ Sports reported

According to the lawsuit, obtained by the celebrity gossip site Monday, the 24-year-old woman said she tested positive for two unspecified sexually transmitted diseases after having unprotected sex multiple occasions with Encarnacion during a trip to the Dominican Republic in February 2016.

The woman, who says in the lawsuit she also was sexually involved with one of Encarnacion's Jays teammates last year, said she contacted Encarnacion after experiencing pain following intercourse. Encarnacion insisted he was free of sexually transmitted diseases, TMZ reported, and suggested the woman may have picked up the infections when they the two went four-wheeling or when she swam in a river near Punta Cana.

The battery allegations in the lawsuit stem from the woman claiming Encarnacion intentionally spread the disease. Encarnacion's agent had "no comment" about the allegations per TMZ.

Encarnacion, 33, is batting .268/.355/.555 this season with 35 homers and 101 RBIs for the AL East-leading Blue Jays.
