MLB Playoff Push: Blue Jays riding shutout streak vs. Yankees

The MLB playoff push is our daily look back and ahead at the post-season picture as teams position themselves for October.

Latest on the Blue Jays: For the second straight game the Toronto Blue Jays shut out the New York Yankees Saturday, their fourth win in five games. Winning is the best way to solidify a playoff spot and with the Detroit Tigers‘ loss to the Kansas City Royals, the Blue Jays were able to get a little more secure in the wild card race.

But the Baltimore Orioles also won Saturday, meaning the last eight games still all very much matter.

Marco Estrada will get the ball Sunday afternoon for the third game of this home series with the Yankees. With his teammates holding New York off the board the last two games, Estrada will have a ton of motivation to keep that streak going.
