Edwin Encarnacion back in Jays’ lineup after shoulder scare

Edwin Encarnacion was held out of the Blue Jays’ starting lineup on Sunday and Monday after getting a cortisone shot for his ailing left shoulder on Saturday, but he is back in there on Tuesday night, batting cleanup and serving as Toronto’s designated hitter against Marlins right-hander Dan Haren.

The cortisone injection apparently did the trick.

Encarnacion has a disappointing .219/.310/.439 slash line in 55 games this season, but that has come alongside 12 home runs and 33 RBI. “EE” should be able to get it all working soon enough. The 32-year-old slugger had a .916 OPS (150 OPS+) between 2012-2014.
