Blue Jays shopping Drew Storen

Toronto has told interested clubs reliever Drew Storen is available, according to Bob Elliott of The Toronto Sun.

Entering play Sunday, the Blue Jays sit at the bottom of the American League East, three games under five-hundred and seven games behind the first place Orioles.

Although clubs don't typically draw many scouts until closer to June, several organizations have been watching Storen pitch since he could be moved before the non-waiver trade deadline.

The Giants, Padres, Marlins, Rockies, Royals, Braves and Dodgers all had scouts present for Toronto's matchup with the Twins, according to Elliott.

Storen, 28, has pitched to a 7.80 ERA and 5.40 FIP over 15.0 innings with the Blue Jays this season.

Toronto acquired the veteran reliever from the Nationals in exchange for outfielder Ben Revere during the off-season. Storen is due $8.38 million this season and will become a free agent at the end of the year.

While he hasn't had much success with the Blue Jays to this point, Storen was a reliable late-inning option for Washington. Over 55.0 innings last season, he pitched to a 3.44 ERA and 2.79 FIP.

Storen's career ERA is 3.22.

Since the market for relief help has yet to develop, the Blue Jays will likely wait for the best offer before deciding to move Storen. If he starts to have success, the club might opt to keep him in the bullpen.
