Blue Jays place Alford on DL, recall Smith

The injury bug continues to plague the Blue Jays.The club placed outfielder Anthony Alford, who was called up on Friday for his first crack at the Major Leagues, on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with a fractured hamate bone in his left wrist.
