Blue Jays sign catcher Russell Martin to five-year, $82-million contract

The Blue Jays have made their first big splash of MLB's offseason by coming to terms on a five-year, $82-million contract with catcher Russell Martin. The deal was reported by Peter Gammons, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, and Jon Heyman of CBS Sports and is pending a physical. The team has yet to confirm the move.
