Jays hold 29th pick as MLB Draft begins

The Blue Jays hold the 29th-overall pick in Monday night’s first round of the annual amateur draft. This will be the sixth draft of the tenure of general manager Alex Anthopoulos. Twelve of Anthopoulos’s 17 first-round picks have been pitchers. Whether that offers any insight into the direction the club will take this year remains to be seen.
